Quality Management

Canada Colors and Chemicals Limited is an industry leader in product and process quality. In addition to industry’s standard quality assurance practices, we have also implemented the following initiatives:

  1. Senior management meets regularly to discuss company quality issues and the direction in which the organization goes in terms of quality. The company started its quest for ISO 9001:2008 registration in 1993. And in 1997, the company converted from an individual site registration format to the corporate ISO 9001:2008 registration format.

  2. In 1997, Canada Colors and Chemicals Limited set a new standard for the storage and handling of food and pharmaceutical ingredients. The company bought and rebuilt a 48,000 sq. ft. building adjoining the Brampton warehouse to meet U.S. FDA’s current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) elements.

  3. A clean room was installed within the Brampton warehouse to package bulk liquids to meet the highest industry standards for quality. USP/NF quality of packaged goods is validated through third party testing facility. This packaging facility is also Kosher certified.

  4. Quality in Progress (QUIPS)

Reintroduced in 1999, QUIPS is a corporate-wide database that is used to capture customer-driven non-conformances. These non-conformances are sorted into different categories and sub-categories for analysis purposes. Canada Colors and Chemicals Limited is aiming for FIVE STAR customer service using QUIPS as the means to capture, measure and highlight areas that need to be changed to attain our goal.

Each region within the company has a dedicated co-ordinator while a senior co-ordinator maintains and oversees the program on a corporate level. There are monthly progress reports to the Executive Management Committee and the Quality Council that review the information and initiate plans for improvement. Continuously monitoring data shows not only where to concentrate our energies towards improvement it also highlights our successes. Our customers are glad to know that we have a formal program that addresses their concerns with corrective and/or preventative action. They know Canada Colors and Chemicals Limited is intent on providing the best service possible by utilizing QUIPS as the tool to make Five Star service a reality.
