Chill-Garde INEOS Silicas offers a range of amorphous silica hydrogels for use as
beer stabilizers and anti-hazing agents. These Silica hydrogels are non-dusting
in nature and can deliver up to 6 months of shelf-life. It also improves
flavour by binding with proteins that reduce polyphenol content. Chill-Garde can be used at the aging stage or filter stage. During the
aging stage, Chill-Garde will form low volume sediments, increase yields
and aid in processing. During the filter stage, Chill-Garde can extend
the life of the diatomaceous earth filter because of its permeability.
These specific functionalities are a result of the sponge-like structure
of Chill-Garde silica particles. This stucture greatly increases its surface
area and the number of adsorption sites.
Chill-Garde is a quick dispersing silica hydrogel. It is designed specifically
to produce a fast and consistent slurry to meet production demands.
